We’ve Got a King of Staten Island Giveaway and Featurette About Marisa Tomei’s Greatness for You!

Marisa Tomei in the King of Staten Island

Recommended Videos

No one loves Marisa Tomei more than I do, mainly because I grew up idolizing her as my Italian queen, and now, seeing her career still thriving after all these years reminds me why I loved her so much in the first place. Her latest work comes from the minds of Judd Apatow and Pete Davidson with The King of Staten Island.

Based loosely on Davidson’s own struggles with his father’s death, the movie explores themes of grief, growing up, and understanding how everyone copes in different ways. It’s a beautiful look at life and how things affect each of us differently, and Marisa Tomei delivers an incredible performance as Margie Carlin, the mother of Scott (Pete Davidson), who has lived her life as someone who lost her husband but dedicated her time to her children. But when she finds someone who makes her happy, her son isn’t too keen on having someone else come into his mother’s life.

In an exclusive featurette for The Mary Sue, the cast and crew talk about the brilliance of Marisa Tomei, and honestly, it sounds like a group of people I’d get along with because I love the brilliance that comes from any Tomei performance. But what I love about this particular featurette is the fact that Tomei didn’t want to just give her impression of Pete Davidson’s mother.
