Mark Ruffalo Wraps Filming On Thor: Ragnarok With Farewell Pics
And a slightly new look for Thor.
It doesn’t even feel like much time has passed since we first learned that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk would be appearing in Thor: Ragnarok (which he’s also referred to as a “buddy movie”, leading one to believe that perhaps someone at Marvel Studios has been reading our fanfiction)–but Ruffalo has already wrapped filming.
However, he didn’t depart before sharing some behind-the-scenes photos of himself and co-star Chris Hemsworth, revealing that Hemsworth has in fact chopped off his long locks for this particular Thor movie:
There’s also a hint at a potentially new costume for Thor this time around, although Ruffalo managed some crafty camera-framing so that no actual part of the suit gets spoiled or revealed (probably because he’d be in deep doo-doo otherwise):
Co-star Tessa Thompson also shared a pic from Ruffalo’s farewell day, in which he looks pretty hilarious in that mo-cap suit and make-up (but hey, it’s all part of bringing the lovable green guy to life, right?); moving forward, I may only be able to refer to Ruffalo as “Sensei Ruffles”:

As far as filming goes, director Taika Waititi said that diversity in the movie’s hiring practices behind-the-scenes was an absolute priority; given that Thor: Ragnarok is currently shooting in Australia, Waititi wanted to make sure that employement opportunities were provided to Indigenous people, who may not be afforded the same experiences otherwise. This Thor movie is already shaping up to have a different feel from its predecessors, not just in front of the camera but behind it as well.
