I’m Judging A Marvel Villains Design Contest With The Avengers’ Tom Hiddleston

Attention all artists/designers out there. The wonderful t-shirt company WeLoveFine.com is holding a really cool contest at the moment. They want to see what kind of imagery you can make out of Marvel villains and they’re offering a grand prize of  up to $2,500 to the best design. And oh yeah, they’ve asked Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston and I to judge the contest. Hit the jump for details!

You may remember us posting a photo of the actor wearing one of We Love Fine’s Loki t-shirts.

He had tweeted the photo as a thank you to all the Loki fans out there (of which there are many). No surprise, that shirt started selling extrememely well. But the really cool thing to note? Their women’s version is outselling the men’s and is, in fact, their current #1 seller. It’s also the first time a women’s tee has topped their sales chart. If you haven’t checked out their shirts and other merchandise, you really should. They’ve got tons of comic items (see all their Marvel stuff) as well as Adventure Time, My Little Pony, Jem, Star Wars and truly gorgeous Art Nouveau designs too! And they’re adding more and more women’s versions every day.

Now, as to this contest, We Love Fine is highlighting the baddies of the Marvel Universe. “This contest is all about the villains! – the badguys who make merry mayhem in the Marvel Universe, and we want to see all of you talented artists out there join us for our latest Marvel competition,” they wrote. “You have a HUGE list of characters to choose from this time (see below under “The Rules” for exactly who), so think about whose evil ways inspire you to imagination and show us the best you’ve got! You could win up to $2,500 in the grand prize, and the chance to have your design made into official Marvel merchandise!”

Here’s Hiddleston and I with our best “serious faces.”

Yes, I somehow found myself in their second judging position along with Hiddleston. I couldn’t be more honored that We Love Fine asked me to contribute and that I get my name on the same page as an actor I very much admire. Hiddleston and I get to pick our favorites from the designs and those winners walk away with $400 each!

You can read the full rules, and details about which characters you’re allowed to use, on the contest page. The deadline for submissions is June 22, 2012 at 11:59 pm PST, fans will get to rate designs from July 6th – 27th, and the winners will be announced in August. If you’re not an artist, don’t worry. At the moment, We Love Fine is also holding a contest for Pinterest users for the chance to win five of their awesome geek shirts!
