Humans Are Jerks, Part 9,376: Slaughtering Awesome Megafauna

Lately paleontologists have revealed the newest information in really old stuff: that there is more evidence than previously thought to support the theory that humans are largely responsible for the extinction of megafauna. Even the Economist has an article up about it.

Once we got past our species shame, we became fixated on the ex-animals mentioned in the Australian Broadcasting Company‘s short post on the subject:

A sheep-sized echidna?  A lion-sized carnivorous possum?  A rinocerous-sized wombat?  That’s adorably terrifying and now we need to go watch some Avatar: The Last Airbender for some reason.
