Star Trek’s Michael Dorn Is Going To Play A Werewolf In The Castlevania Movie

I’m writing more articles these days about Star Trek: The Next Generation actor Michael Dorn than I ever expected. He’s hopeful for a Worf spin-off ,and is busy with a Kickstarter for a romcom filled with Trek actors, but the latest news is he’s got a role in the Castlevania movie. There’s a Castlevania movie? Probably?
Apparently Konami has been developing a Castlevania film for a while but it’s only now gaining any kind of steady footing. Resident Evil: Retribution’s Paul W.S. Anderson, The Losers’ Sylvain White, and Saw’s James Wan had all been attached in the past.
Dorn told StarTrek.com it was actually his TNG co-star Marina Sirtis who got him involved with Castlevania. “People have been trying to get this thing done for a long time and they finally got the producers together that want to do it. They finally got the OK from the owners, and so they’re doing it,” he said.
He’ll be playing a werewolf, and no, the comparisons to his famous role were not lost on him.
“It’s a fun little part. It’s four days, and I’m playing a werewolf that’s been around for a gajillion years who works for this vampire,” he said. “It’s not too far from Worf because there’s a lot of killing and jumping and sword fights and everything.”
It’s also nice to see Dorn agrees with me – he is very busy these days.
“The funny thing is, last year, things were going OK but slow, and I thought, ‘Well, maybe I’m retired. Maybe it’s time to think about playing more tennis and having lunches with friends.’ The minute I did that, I got busier than I’ve ever been,” he said.
Hard to really give an opinion at this point since we know practically nothing about it but are you excited for a Castlevania movie?
