Microsoft Pulls Terrible Anti-Apple Ads, Is Still Bad at PR [VIDEO]
After the Xbone debacle, you'd think that Microsoft would start to get the hang of this.
Calling the series “A Fly on the Wall in Cupertino,” the ads show supposed Apple Employees selling their CEO on their newest innovations for the new iPhone. While the commercials were clearly supposed to be funny, they mostly make Microsoft look butthurt at Apple’s success (we still remember the Zune, guys, c’mon.)
Microsoft released a statement after pulling the ads, saying that “[t]he video was intended to be a light-hearted poke at our friends from Cupertino. But it was off the mark, and we’ve decided to pull it down.”
Maybe we’d take Microsoft’s attack ads a bit more seriously if we knew a single person (aside from the cast of Hawaii Five-0) who owns a Windows Phone.
- Microsoft officially owns the Xbone.com domain, even though they hate that name
- Microsoft also accidentally keeps sending copyright takedown requests to sites hosting Open Office
- At least they finally got rid of Microsoft Points
