Miles Dyson’s Son Will Be Played By A Hunger Games Tribute In Terminator: Genesis
Earlier this week we brought you news of a rumor Attack the Block’s John Boyega might take on the role of Miles Dyson’s son in Terminator: Genesis. Looks like he didn’t get this one. Danny Dyson will be played by The Hunger Games star Dayo Okeniyi.
Deadline is calling the role a “lead” one and suggests this could do big things for Okeniyi’s career. If it doesn’t tank, that is.
Has Danny followed in his late father’s footsteps? Here’s how Deadline describes the character:
Okeniyi, who co-starred in The Hunger Games and The Spectacular Now, will play a Steve Jobs genius who figures heavily into the conclusion of the film. He is Danny Dyson, who is also the son of the brainiac cyborg developer Miles Dyson, played by Joe Morton in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The young man holds the key to technology development that makes Skynet possible.
Okeniyi joins Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film.
Deadline also gives an indication on what’s in store going forward for the update of the Terminator franchise. “And here is some more good news for fans: they have made first plans to shoot three installments to put this saga to rest. The second and third films will be done back to back over nine months. The first film gets underway shortly in Louisiana.”
A reminder that Boyega was said to be up for both Terminator: Genesis and a lead in Star Wars: Episode VII. Does this mean we can assume he landed the latter?
