The Da Vinci Code Is Real. Maybe. Not Really.
According to Silvano Vinceti, there are several letters and numbers etched into both eyes of the Mona Lisa that may or may not reveal either A) a secret code or B) the identity of the woman who sat for the iconic painting. Quoth Vinceti, aka Italy’s Geraldo Rivera:
In the right eye appear to be the letters LV which could well stand for his name, Leonardo da Vinci, while in the left eye there are also symbols but they are not as defined.
It is very difficult to make them out clearly but they appear to be the letters CE, or it could be the letter B.
In the arch of the bridge in the background the number 72 can be seen or it could be an L and the number 2.
You have to remember the picture is almost 500 years old so it is not as sharp and clear as when first painted.
“For real, you guys, it’s one of those things where you have to look beyond it, and you’ll totally see it…See? It’s a sailboat.”
The magnification shows something resembling pieces of possible letters. Or, as they’re called in layman’s terms, lines. Call me skeptical, but does this theory (by a man who wants to dig up da Vinci’s skull to see if the bone structure proves he is a woman) seem like a bit of a reach? If someone’s cat stretches out on the King James Bible, does it magically reveal the date of the Apocalypse? Does anyone want to try this and become Internet-famous?
