Monday Cute: The Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary Facebook Page Is Purest, Kindest Site on the Internet
The Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary in Mount Juliet, Tennessee is a pure gem. Their Facebook page is usually full of photos of old, senior dogs who are up for adoption. All of the dogs are decidedly older than most dogs who would still find themselves up for adoption, and the photos that get posted of them certainly show that. That being said, they’re all wonderfully perfect doggos that we hope find their own forever homes very soon.
Now, the other thing about this Facebook page is that unlike the rest of the comment sections on the internet, the comments here are absolutely filled with older folks who speak to the dogs as if they were the ones posting the photos. They’ll write about them as if they had adopted them themselves, and it’s the purest, most sweetest thing to exist on Facebook in the history of ever.
Usually older dogs don’t get adopted if they’re at the pound or the humane society, because folks are often looking for a young, cute puppy to take home. That’s why places like the Old Friends sanctuary are really important. While it’s nice to cruise by and check out the Facebook page once in a while, it’s important to remember that these dogs really do need homes to go to, and if you’re in a position to offer some space to ’em, definitely give adoption a thought.
Otherwise, enjoy cruising through the photos, and take in what the “best case scenario” for internet comments might look like.
