Monday Cute: Happy Belated 31st Birthday to Nutmeg, The World’s Oldest Living Cat (Probably)

Meet Nutmeg. He’s 31 years old, and he’s probably the world’s oldest living cat. We have to say “probably” because he started out life as a stray, so he doesn’t have any official papers, and his owners can’t prove his age. However, they estimate that he’s about 31 years old now, which–if true–would make him the world’s oldest living cat.
Westway Veterinary Group threw a little party for Nutmeg on his 31st birthday, and there’s even a cake! I love how incredibly world-weary Nutmeg looks in this photo:
He’s just like, “I’ve seen it all. Nothing phases me anymore.” That’s how I feel about my birthdays too, Nutmeg.
Nutmeg looks a lot more pleasant in his personal Instagram feed, @oldestlivingcat, where he has a lot of glamour shots of himself looking super fluffy and peppy. Even at his advanced age–which would be 141 in human years–he’s still playing around with much younger kitties in the yard, as seen in this adorable Instagram video:

We wish you a happy 31st year, Nutmeg. Hope it’ll be another happy one full of playing in the grass and swatting at young kittens who should know better than to mess with you!
