Mr. Feeny Has an Important Message for the Youths: “Pay Attention to the Politics”
For anyone who’s ever watched Boy Meets World, you know Mr. Feeny was more than just a teacher. He was a surrogate father, not just to Cory and the gang, but to the show’s young audience as well. He could always be counted up to deliver life’s most important lessons in a way that was easy to digest. I’ll never forget his touching words in the series finale: “Dream. Try. Do good.” Given our current political, social and economic climate, those words seem more important now than ever.
And as it turns out, that piece of advice also happens to be the favorite of William Daniels, who portrayed the beloved teacher for all seven seasons. Catching up with BuzzFeed, he channeled the character to impart some more wisdom for today’s youth.
“Pay attention to the politics,” he said. “I’m worried about where we are right now. These are difficult times and young people have gotta form an opinion and they’ve gotta act on it. And by act on it, I mean they have to vote when there’s a chance to vote and use their own judgments about what’s going on these days because, I think, these are difficult times, you know? Without getting into it too much.”
With everything that’s happening in politics right now, there’s no room for apathy.
