Neil Gaiman’s Christmas Card As A Macabre Pop-Up Book

And Now For Something Completely Different

Recommended Videos

Author Neil Gaiman wrote a short story for his Christmas card in 1989. Since then it’s become sort of a cult-classic story for, let’s say, the darker side of Christmas. Nicholas Was… is of course Gaiman’s usual fare and quite enjoyable for those with a black sense of humor. Vimeo user nomsa has set the tale to video using a very well put together pop-up book and some dramatic music. Nicholas Was… is now part of Gaiman’s Smoke and Mirrors collection but has been used by other creative people in the past too. You can see a collection of them and read more about the history of the notorious Christmas card here. Ho. Ho. Ho.
