Ripley & Her Xenomorph Space Suit Feature in Neill Blomkamp’s Drool-Worthy Alien Concept Art

I'll take ten.

Was District 9 and Chappie director Neill Blomkamp working on an Alien movie? Some new concept art reveals he just might have been. Now whether or not he was getting paid for it is another story…

Especially after seeing that last posting, it seems as if this was just a fun passion project for the director, which was also suggested in something he said later. Blomkamp went on to tweet: “They didn’t really even know I was working on it ha… Ps this has nothing to do with the studio. I just feel like I might do something else instead. In which case why not show some work-”

Could it have been a pitch? Could releasing the images be Blomkamp’s way of gauging fan interest in such a project and seeing how the studio would respond? What do you think?

The director’s next film, Chappie, is set for release March 6, 2015.
