Netflix Officially Teases All-New Run of Black Mirror Episodes
Online streaming TV’s quest to pick up all the shows that regular TV foolishly discards continues with new episodes of Black Mirror on Netflix. Get ready for some modern, Twilight Zone-esque sci-fi.
There’s no date yet on the release of the series’ 12 new episodes, but they’ll be produced by House of Tomorrow just like the original episodes with Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones reprising their executive producer roles. Booker said, “It’s all very exciting—a whole new bunch of Black Mirror episodes on the most fitting platform imaginable. Netflix connects us with a global audience so that we can create bigger, stranger, more international and diverse stories than before, whilst maintaining that ‘Black Mirror‘ feel. I just hope none of these new story ideas come true.”
One more interesting note is that Netflix’s press release mentions that not only is the release date TBA, but the “episode rollout” remains under wraps for now. With rumors that Netflix might try releasing shows episodically week-to-week instead of in the familiar “binge-watch” format where all episodes drop at once, that mention of a specific episode rollout plan is highly suspicious.
