Netflix Gives Us the Best Part of Trish’s Storyline from Jessica Jones With the “I Want Your Cray Cray” Video
Trish Walker was legitimately the worst in Jessica Jones‘ second season and despite a few moments here and there, very little about her story was redeemable. However, episode “AKA I Want Your Cray Cray” gave us some much-needed insight into Trish’s younger years as a pop star trying to “break out” from her child star image. Netflix decided to give us the full titular music video that we saw snippets off during the episode and man … it is … something.
On the one hand, the info pop-ups that add a little bit more “substance” to this thing, but what I find sort of trying about it is that in the snippets we saw within the series, it was fun, but as a whole all I can think of is what a terrible 90s pop star Trish would have been.
In the era where Britney, Christina, P!nk and JANET were serving you killer dance vibes and solid vocals, here is Trish verrrrry low-energy “dancing” and “singing,” I guess. Whoever told her that video could win a VMA should legitimately be fired from her entourage because that is just a boldfaced lie. Although we do find out that Trish and her mother both dated the same basic looking backup dancer, so there’s that.
Still, I have to say this 2-minute video is probably the most enjoyable Trish-as-a-character for the entirety of season two—plus on just a superficial level, Rachael Taylor looks amazing with her red lips and red dress that looks like a cross between Britney in her “Oops … I Did it Again” Era and Taylor Swift’s “Red” Era.
Well, what do you think? Do you want Trish’s Cray-Cray?
