Can’t Decide What to Watch? Take Netflix Roulette for a Spin

And then you can be disappointed when it picks something not available for streaming!

Netflix’s catalogue of movies, shows, and comedy specials—and things that are so bad I refuse to put them in any of those categories—can be mind-numbingly large. So, how do you go about deciding what to watch? Try taking a spin on Netflix Roulette.

Sure, Netflix already has some helpful suggestions for you, like “British TV Drama,” “Dark Comedies,” or “Comedies Starring Paul Rudd” (don’t you judge me, Netflix), but Netflix Roulette takes it a step further. You start by selecting a broad genre, and you can additionally select a specific actor’s name, a director, a keyword, or even a star rating if you want.

So, you can go ahead and try to find top-rated movies by some of your favorite artists. Alternately, you can head to the other end of the star rating scale to find Mystery Science Theater-style, so-bad-it’s-good B movie gold.

Then, just spin the roulette like so:

Unfortunately, there’s no option to only search for content that’s available to stream, so you may wind up getting suggestions that you can only watch in DVD form. I’m not waiting for physical mail like it’s the 1800s anymore, Netflix Roulette. This is a critical feature. Please be advised.
