It Goes Ding When There's Stuff

Whovians dying for their next taste of the show can rest a little easier in the knowledge that one major milestone in the production process is fast approaching. The show has confirmed writers for this season, has a brand new production studio in Cardiff, and will begin shooting on February 20th.

Hum it to yourself: boo wee ooooo… bee ooo woooo…

The first director to get his hands on Season 7 will be Saul Metzstein, known most recently for “The Cuckoo” episode of Upstairs Downstairs (where he did not share working time with Alex Kingston, she joins the cast next season) and Micro Men. Confirmed returning writers include Toby Whithouse (writer behind “School Reunion” (the one with Sarah Jane and Giles), “The Vampires of Venice,” “The God Complex” (the one with the hotel) and creator of the BBC Being Human), and Chris Chibnall writer behind “42” (BURN WITH ME) and “The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood” (the one with the reptile people).

This season of Doctor Who will be the first production ever filmed in the brand new BBC Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff, which is a good a christening as any for a BBC production.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
