Kevin Spacey Turns Into a Grumpy Cat in Nine Lives Trailer
Why did no one tell me Nine Lives is a thing that’s happening? Anyway, miracles are real! Nine Lives stars Kevin Spacey playing Tom Brand, a workaholic businessman who becomes trapped in his family’s cat, Mr. Fuzzypants, because a magical pet store owner played by Christopher Walken casts a small spell. Oh, but here’s the rub. Tom Brand hates cats.
Barry Sonnenfeld, well known for his work as a cinematographer for the Coen brothers, The Addams Family, Men in Black, and Get Shorty is directing. The cast also includes Jennifer Garner as Brand’s wife, Robbie Amell, and Malina Weissman.
With Key and Peele’s Keanu coming up, I can only hope that this is the beginning to a new trend of cat-centered stories in cinema, not unlike the huge wave of dog movies (e.g. the Beethoven and Air Bud series) in the ’90s and early 2000s. I can’t wait to see cat-Spacey learn about the value of family on the big screen, how about you?
