Redditor Claims World First Full North American Pokémon Go Pokédex
Not quite a master, yet.
Pack it in, folks, the world has its first North American Pokémon Master. Redditor ftb_hodor has posted proof that they have completed the North American Pokédex. In total, they’ve caught 142 Pokémon. While there are 151 Pokémon currently in the game, the last nine that elude ftb_hodor are considered legendary or mythical Pokémon, which are unable to be captured at this time. Those Pokémon include the legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, the ever-elusive Mew and Mewtwo, the duck with the leek Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and everyone’s favorite, Ditto.
In total, ftb_hodor captured 4,629 Pokémon on their journey to catch ’em all while walking 153 kilometers and hatching 303 eggs. If htb_hodor wants to complete their Pokédex, they’re going to have to turn their sights overseas. Farfetch’d is exclusive to Asia, Mr. Mime is in Europe, and Kangaskhan can be found in Oceanic countries.
This is all to say that there’s still a chance for you to become the first world Pokémon Master. Keep catching ’em all, and keep your eye out for that Mew or Mewtwo. And, you know, I’m going to say this right now: you probably don’t have to use Strength on a truck to find Mew.
