Oh No There’s New Official Korra/Asami Art And It’s MAKING US FEEL THINGS

And if you attend the the upcoming The Legend of Korra/Avatar: The Last Airbender tribute exhibition at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California, you can see this breathtaking Bryan Konietzko original real and in person!

The piece, entitled “Turtle-Duck Date Night,” features Korra and Asami being the cutest cuddlers around. “I used and modified Emily Tetri’s production painting of Harmony Tower (designed by Lee Jung-Su),” Konietzko notes on his blog. “Otherwise, I drew and painted the rest of it. I based the turtle-duck boats on the charming swan boats I saw while visiting Ueno Park in Tokyo.”

Gallery Nucleus will also be selling a limited set of 100 prints on Saturday, March 7th when the exhibition opens, and Konietzko will be present for signing in the first hour, along with Korra co-creator Mike DiMartino and many other crew members from both shows. There’s also be raffles Also, Konietzko is going to donate all of his proceeds to an LGBTQ suicide prevention hotline, because he’s the best.

The exhibition runs until March 22nd so even if you can’t make it into the opening—and if you’re gonna try, get there early because lines tend to wrap around the block for these events—you still have plenty of time to check out all the amazing work by talented artists like Claire Hummel, the aforementioned Emily Tetri, Joaquim Dos Santos, Perry Maple Dixon, and many more.
