Join us, back in the days when toy commercials actually weren’t targeted at kids, and instead mostly at adults looking for a toy that would engage their children in a way that at least made them feel like good parents. Lego has shown some evidence in recent years of not living up to their original focus on being a unisex toy (check out Crystal Smith‘s look at Lego lineups and advertising here. She also brought us these boys/girls toy advertising word clouds). In this video, from 1960, the happy homemaker is literally that.
