Olivia Munn on X-Men: Apocalypse‘s “Strong, Lethal, Powerful” Psylocke and Her Costume

Recommended Videos

There’s been a decent amount of buzz around Psylocke’s outfit in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie. Lots of people have praised the film’s “true-to-the-comic-book” aesthetic, while others feel not so thrilled about how… bright everything is. But Olivia Munn, who plays Psylocke, only had good things to say about her costume.

Munn described her character as “very strong and powerful,” and thought that the costume complimented that. She recently had an interview with Entertainment Weekly where she expounded her reasons why she thought it was a great costume. She said:

Psylocke’s outfit or uniform or suit or whatever you want to call it is very sexual. I’ve got like my thigh-highs and a halter, but the thing about that, and that was important, is that it doesn’t matter what I’m wearing as long as we’re all aware of who she is. She’s very strong and she’s very lethal and she’s very powerful, and it doesn’t really matter what she’s wearing as long as you have that strength and that presence.

If it makes her feel empowered, then by all means. You can check to see if Munn can bring out all that strength and presence in her performance when X-Men: Apocalypse releases next May.
