Patrick Stewart Says Professor X Will Make “More Than an Appearance” in Wolverine III

Xcellent.

2oth Century Fox has been ushering in a new cast of mutants for the X-Men movie universe and will continue to do so in Apocalypse, but that doesn’t mean Patrick Stewart’s iconic Professor Xavier is all washed up. Stewart says he’ll have plenty to do alongside Hugh Jackman in the next Wolverine movie.

In an interview with Collider about Stewart’s upcoming show Blunt Talk, he confirmed his appearance in Hugh Jackman’s last, Old Man Logan-based Wolverine movie as more than a cameo:

I think what you say is true. There is a project in development. I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me.

Although, it’s intriguing that he says “Professor Xavier” will have more than a cameo—is it possible it might not be Stewart? Maybe, but Stewart’s much more likely if they really are going with the Old Man Logan angle. And who doesn’t want to see a buddy team-up movie about Stewart’s Xavier and Wolverine? I’m sure that’s what this movie will be like, right? Right?

… Anyway. He went on to address the Old Man Logan prospect, too:

And the idea of an old Wolverine—I’m really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old. You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I’m hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he’ll make me look better if that’s the case.

Pfff come on. We all know Patrick Stewart is the one who hasn’t aged in the last 30 years and drinks the blood of the young to support his eternal life. (Which we’re all totally cool with, by the way. It’s a noble sacrifice.)
