Now You, Too, Can Be A Pokémon Master… Erm, Commentator
Just note, you probably should not have a voice that can put people to sleep.
Are you a charismatic, enthusiastic person who can actually remember all the names of all 700+ Pokémon? First of all, we don’t know how you do it. That’s a lot of Pokémon. Second, the Pokémon Championships need some new commentators for their competitions, and they’d like you to audition.
According to the official commentary posting at the Pokémon website, they’re looking for someone with “Pokémon knowledge, eloquence, and composure to be an on-screen commentator” for their live-streamed competition broadcasts.
In order to be considered, you need to be a U.S. resident over the age of 18, and you must be to attend both the US National Championships in July and the World Championships in August. All you have to do is submit a video giving gameplay commentary of a Pokémon X/Y or TCG match, either alone or with a partner. If you can both recite the Team Rocket speech from memory, that’ll probably help, too. Just make sure you don’t get upstaged by any talking cats.
The deadline is April 21st, so to find out more about the rules and how to enter, check out the official guidelines on their website.
