Power Rangers Is Already Teasing a Sequel With the Character You Would Immediately Guess

Recommended Videos

If the Power Rangers movie meets any measure of success on its release this weekend, producer Haim Saban already has plans for not one but five more movies to follow it. That’s pretty easy to do when you have years of source material to draw from, and that’s exactly what they plan to do as evidenced by how they’re already teasing the sequel: the introduction of the Green Ranger.

Spoilers for the first one, I guess, if you were holding out hope that Tommy Oliver would make an appearance? Anyway, the Green Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers became perhaps the most iconic character of the show’s original run, first coming in as a villain in glorious evil twin style and then joining up with the good Rangers, because of course he did.

It was a relatively long story arc for the mostly episodic, formulaic series and could easily provide an instant plot outline for the Power Rangers movie sequel. It’s also probably where every Power Rangers fan in existence thought the movie series would go next after starting over from the beginning, but it’s equally likely where fans would like the story to go next, so really, everybody wins.

The only thing left to do is fan cast a solid replacement for the original series’ Jason David Frank. Suggestions?
