A Professor Layton Anime Series Is On the Way
The popular puzzle franchise Professor Layton will soon be a television series, which is exciting news for fans, puzzle enthusiasts, and anyone who likes an adorable mystery plot.
Total Licensing broke the news, and the magazine reports that Level-5 has confirmed the series is set to debut in 2018 for a 26 episode run. This won’t be the first time Professor Layton has been adapted for the screen, as Masakazu Hashimoto directed the feature film Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva back in 2009 to generally positive reviews. The game has also been previously adapted into to a manga series and three novels.
There’s no other information currently about what kind of story or approach the anime will use, but we can definitely expect some excellent puzzles. I’m hoping it’ll be as over-the-top and dramatic as Eternal Diva. What kind of Professor Layton series would you like to see?
