PS4 Owners, You’re About to Get Video Editing Capabilities in an Update
Now you can cut out all the times you die and look like a superstar.
The PlayStation 4 is crushing it in terms of sales, but the Xbox One still has some things the PS4 doesn’t. At least, it does for now. While Xbox One owners can brag that they can edit their captured gameplay footage on the system itself and their PS4 counterparts can’t, they won’t be able to for much longer.
In the 1.70 update, Sony is adding video editing service SHAREfactory to the PS4 platform. They’re also opening up the PS4 to third party recording devices by giving players the option to disable the HDCP, which has limited how owners can record their gameplay footage.
SHAREfactory even includes music tracks players can use, similar to YouTube’s rights-free music library.
