Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window From Another Angle [VIDEO]
It's Technical
I’m a bit of an Alfred Hitchcock fanatic and Rear Window from 1954 is near the top of my favorite movies list. I never thought I’d see something like this done, hell, I didn’t think something like this could be done. I’ll let the creator, Jeff Desom explain. “I dissected all of Hitchcock’s Rear Window and stiched it back together in After Effects. I stabilized all the shots with camera movement in them. Since everything was filmed from pretty much the same angle I was able to match them into a single panoramic view of the entire backyard without any greater distortions. The order of events stays true to the movie’s plot.” So basically, you’re seeing everything Jimmy Stewart’s character, L.B. Jeffries, sees. You’re just skipping all the scenes centered on him. The video here is a time-lapsed version of Desom’s work, the full version runs twenty minutes long. Read more about it here.
