Rick Baker to Receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Finally.
Bloody Good Fun
Even if you don’t recognize the name of makeup artist Rick Baker, you definitely know his work. His list of credits includes An American Werewolf in London, the ’80s Beauty and the Beast TV show, Ed Wood, Harry and the Hendersons, Men in Black… he’s basically the God of movie makeup.
And he’s finally getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It’s about damn time.
The ceremony will take place on Friday, November 30th in front of the Guinness World Record Museum. Baker will also be entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for both winning and being nominated for the most Academy Awards for Best Makeup of anyone in history. He’s been nominated for 12 Oscars and won seven, including one for 2010’s The Wolfman.
Yep. Baker is the reason The Wolfman can claim the adjective “Oscar-winning” where Psycho, The Shawshank Redemption, and Do the Right Thing cannot. He’s also responsible for Norbit being an Oscar-nominated film. It’s pretty funny when you think about it. The man’s really, really good at his job.
