Could You Accept Twilight’s Robert Pattinson As Finnick In Catching Fire?
Rumory
You may or may not be a Robert Pattinson fan, but the actor is more than just his Twilight films. Though if rumors are true, Pattinson could be getting himself into another young adult franchise. Word is he may be playing Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games’ sequel, Catching Fire. So, how does that make you feel?
Think, McFly, Think were the first to report the possibility of Pattinson stepping into the role. They write, “TMT received a tip the studio is chasing Robert Pattinson to join the cast of Catching Fire, the sequel Francis Lawrence is taking over after helmer Gary Ross’ high-profile departure, as Finnick Odair.”
Without getting spoilery, Finnick has a decent size role in Catching Fire and is described as being extremely handsome, tall, muscular, and athletic, with tan skin, bronze-colored hair, and sea green eyes. He’s from District 4 (fishing), is known for using a trident in the games, and is very popular with the Capitol residents.
Yes, it’s an anonymous tip, from an unnamed source, on a site not known for Hollywood scoops but it’s not too far out of the realm of possibilities. Lawrence recently directed Pattinson in the adaptation of Water For Elephants with Reese Witherspoon. And even if you particularly don’t like Pattinson, a lot of paying customers do, and he’d certainly be a big draw for the film. Or could it have the opposite effect?
Zap2It reports a Pattinson backlash online. They mention that the hashtag #PattinsonisnotFinnick is trending on the social networking site. Some are even saying they won’t watch the film if Pattinson is cast.
So what do you think? If you don’t like Pattinson in the role, who else would you like to see play Finnick? Personally, while reading the book, I pictured Justin Hartley who played Green Arrow on the CW’s Smallville.
But let’s not forget, this is just a huge rumor for now. Pattinson will star in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis next and the final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part 2 hits theaters November 16.
