Roger Stone Thought He Could Come Back To Twitter Because of Elon Musk, Was Immediately Re-Banned

It’s been a while since we had to talk about Roger Stone, so in case you’ve forgotten, he’s the longtime Trump lackey with a tattoo of Richard Nixon’s face on his back, who dresses like a Batman villain and was found guilty of lying to Congress and obstructing the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Stone was permanently booted off Twitter in 2017 after hurling vulgar insults at numerous CNN anchors and encouraging violence and harassment towards them, as well as other offenses. This week, he apparently got too excited by Twitter’s ownership change, perhaps fueled by some false suggestions that Elon Musk was letting prominent banned conservatives back onto the site, and attempted a comeback. It lasted six hours.

Stone popped up on the platform with a new account (@RogerStoneUSA) and took to the messaging app Telegram early Thursday morning to brag about it.

“Well bitches I’m back on Twitter,” Stone wrote. “I’m anxious to see how strong Elon Musk’s commitment to free speech is.”

Of course, just because Musk and Twitter have reached a deal, that does not mean Musk has actually taken control of the company. That won’t happen for another few months. In the meantime, creating new accounts after being banned is a violation of the site’s terms of service. Though I suppose Stone has realized that by now:

When reached for comment, Stone told The Daily Beast, “I posted a new account to prove a point … I look forward to whoever made the decision to suspend my account getting fired. Attn: Elon Musk.”

Ah, so Stone is going the “Twitter didn’t break up with me, I broke up with them” route. That’s definitely believable!
