Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Gets an Intense New Teaser and Synopsis
A new teaser came out yesterday in anticipation for the second official trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which will air during Olympics coverage tomorrow. We get a glance at the new U-wing, Felicity Jones’ Jyn, Jiang Wen’s Baze, Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO, Diego Luna’s Captain Cassian, and Donnie Yen’s Chirrut in the 10-second clip.
While I think trailers for trailers are a bit silly, there’s no denying that the amount of tension and intense stares they were able to fit into such a short amount of time is getting me so hype for Rogue One. Comic Book Resources also shared the film’s first official synopsis, and while it doesn’t add any new reveals it promises “extraordinary things” and “an all-new epic adventure”:
From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
