Ryan Reynolds and Conan Make Out in Notebook Parody on Conan
Despite nearly all of his characters being very sexually open and forward, it’s not every day you actually get to see Ryan Reynolds make out with someone, let alone Conan O’-freakin-Brien. Reynolds was recently on Conan to promote … something, it seems. His entire interview turned into a game of “Guess What I’m Here to Promote,” which included such amazing products as Meat Underwear, a children’s Civil War Wound Sing-Along album (complete with a “Roxanne” parody titled “Gangrene”), and a book on how to lower your child’s self-esteem.
It’s all patently Reynolds to be completely honest, and does get awkwardly raunchy in a few places (the Fox & Friends tape in particular). But if you know anything of Reynolds, then you already know that this is exactly what you can expect from the man.
However the last bit, a clip from Notebook 2 (not actually a thing) features Reynolds in a role previously occupied by another Ryan (Gosling), and Conan as Conan McAdams. Whoever directed Notebook 2 apparently thinks that sequels are just parodied scenes of original movies, because the clip is the “kissing in the rain” scene made famous in the original Notebook.
I definitely cringed at the tired old “man-in-a-dress” joke here with Conan in Rachel McAdams’ dress and pearls, but aside from that, the clip (and the entire segment) are 100% Reynolds-style humor.
