Fans Are Obsessed With This Wanda Moment in ‘Dr. Strange 2’
Now that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has hit theaters, fans are talking about some moments that really stuck out to them. If there’s one iconic thing about Elizabeth Olsen’s portrayal of Wanda Maximoff and the Scarlet Witch, it’s that moment when she tilts her head to the side and stares at you—and you know that you either have five seconds to run or you’re facing off against the Scarlet Witch.
In Multiverse of Madness, we get a bit of that, but in a new way, and it’s honestly even more terrifying and exhilarating. And fans online are sharing their love for it.

So what’s more terrifying than Wanda tilting her head at you when she’s full on Scarlet Witch mode? Wanda looking directly into the camera. In the midst of Multiverse of Madness, Wanda dream-walks into the body of Earth-838 Wanda, who is happily trying to live her life with her boys. But our Wanda is heading there to try and get to America Chavez.
Once she dream-walks, Wanda looks directly into the camera and breaks the 4th wall (which is reminiscent of her journey on WandaVision as well). That break has made its way to Twitter, and fans are rightfully obsessed with it.
The quote tweets range from everyone wishing that she’d probably step on them (meaning they thought it was hot) to being scared that the Scarlet Witch was coming to get them through the screen.
Why does Wanda look into the camera?
The reason is simple: She’s aware that we’re watching. It’s what happened in WandaVision when she knew people like Darcy were monitoring her, and I’m sure in this case, the message is that she knows that those looking for her are keeping tabs on what she’s doing.
It also is just cool to have Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch staring at me. My own reaction was something along the lines of “oh hey girl” because if I ever got to look my girl, Wanda, in the face, I’d be happy even if it was the last thing I did. So the reaction online is a mix of being afraid, being attracted to her, and truly supporting anything that Wanda chooses to do.
