She Walks in Shadows Re-Imagines H.P. Lovecraft’s Works From the Female Perspective

H.P. Lovecraft doesn’t exactly have the best track record when it comes to writing women. To fix that, 25 female writers and about a dozen artists have gathered to summon what could be one of the neatest Lovecraftian anthologies to date. It’s called She Walks in Shadows, and it’s made up of the same old Lovecraft stories, but written from the perspective of his female characters.

The description of the book from the pre-sale website is a great hook:

They emerge from the shadows, to claim the night ….

Women from around the world delve into Lovecraftian depths, penning and illustrating a variety of Weird horrors. The pale and secretive Lavinia Whatley wanders through the woods, Asenath is a precocious teenager with an attitude, and the Ancient Egyptian pharaoh Nitocris has found a new body in distant America.
