Baby Aye-Aye Named Smeagol Has the Most Accurate Name Ever

Recommended Videos

The Philadelphia Zoo recently witnessed the birth of a baby Aye-aye, a rare type of lemur found in Madagascar. They decided to name him Smeagol “after his resemblance to the Lord of the Rings character,” and based on these pictures of what the zoo describes as a “creepy-cute baby,” we think they nailed it. Isn’t he … precious?

Bonus: Smeagol’s father is named “Tolkein.” (Close enough.)
