Russia Now Selling Cosmonaut Cuisine in Earth-Bound Vending Machines
Recommended by 4/5 Dr.Spacemans.
According to Sputnik News, visitors to Moscow’s All-Russian Exhibition Center can now enjoy ISS dining without ever needing to leave Earth! Y…ay?
Exhibition Center organizers report that 11 different varieties of tubes will be available for purchase, including “meat” dishes, “desserts,” and several “soups.” The tubes will be produced using the same technology as actual cosmonaut grub, and will cost 300 rubles (around $4.50) each.
Although Russia’s increasingly strained diplomatic relationships on Earth have cast doubt on the future of the ISS, I hope NASA can at least take a page out of the cosmonauts’ cookbook and make space cuisine more readily available for all of us chumps stuck down here on Earth. I might not be built for the final frontier, but that doesn’t mean my stomach can’t be made to think otherwise.
