Sean Spicer Got Booed at Today’s Press Briefing & the Internet Has No Sympathy
Sean Spicer’s briefing today? Lies, lies, lies & literally booed whilst fleeing the “briefing” room. This WH is an absolute disgrace.

After about two weeks off, Sean Spicer was back behind the White House press podium today, because Trump is apparently really enjoying dragging out his firing. The briefing, as you might expect, did not go well. The entire thing was incredibly, well, brief, with Spicer starting off talking about Trump’s recent Europe trip. Because I guess he doesn’t realize that we all have access to constant direct news reports, he stuck with the narrative that the whole trip was a big win and super successful.
Sean Spicer on trip: “Truly an extraordinary week…” “Historic turning point…” “The president’s historic speech…” “A historic event…”

“THIS TRIP WAS GREAT AND HISTORICAL AND IMPORTANT AND WENT OFF WITHOUT A HITCH” -Sean Spicer, being extremely convincing

Not surprisingly, the word “propaganda” is being thrown around a lot in response.
In today’s White House press briefing, Sean Spicer’s lauding of #Trump‘s trip in his opening statement is pure propaganda.

He also refused to answer questions about the investigation into Jared Kushner’s ties to Russia.
Sean Spicer can’t deny Kushner story b/c Russians can leak what Kushner said. #Kushner is compromised. He must lose sec clearance & resign. https://t.co/B89zjuB14D

And of course, he devoted a fair chunk of his small time to that old favorite: fake news. Focusing on one tweet (which was later corrected) from a BBC journalist about Trump not wearing a translator earpiece on his trip, Spicer railed against the media’s “perpetuation of false narratives.” He also mentioned the use of anonymous sources, which Trump believes means they don’t exist. Oh, except when they do.

Perhaps the strangest moment was when, seemingly out of nowhere, Spicer closed his notebook and hurried out of the room.

In that clip, you can hear one reporter yell after him “Is Kushner fake news?” and other reporters boo. They’re booing at the press secretary. It’s no surprise that Sean Spicer looks like his soul is disintegrating before our eyes.
Heard in Mother Jones DC bureau: Sean Spicer “has lost all the light in his eyes.”

He really does look like he’s holding on by a thread, and the internet has no qualms about saying so.
Sean Spicer is wearing his personal defeat and humiliation on his sleeve today

Sean Spicer is like the guy who cleans up the elephant poop at the circus and is proud to be in show business.

Sean Spicer is conducting this press conference like he has zero fucks because he gave them all to Satan.

This is Sean Spicer’s most embarrassing press conference since his first one and somehow the most embarrassing moment of MY life? Weird.
