Brian Michael Bendis Kinda-Sorta-Maybe Alleges That Spider-Man Will Be In Captain America: Civil War
You're a tricky one, Mr. Bendis.
In a panel during Special Edition: NYC, Brian Michael Bendis, Marvel creative committee member and prolific writer, let slip that Spider-Man may very well be in Captain America: Civil War, which is shooting right now in Atlanta.
Given that Spidey’s actions are a major plot point during Civil War, it was pretty much assumed he’d be in for this movie, but nothing was ever really confirmed. According to CBR, when Bendis was talking on the panel about how some people felt Spider-Man wasn’t an Avenger, he said, “The same thing happened when they heard Spider-Man is going to be in [‘Captain America: Civil War’] the movie.”
Of course, to cover his tracks, he also added, “Allegedly. Or he’s going to be in Batman v Superman.”
We already know a bunch of actors were flown out to Atlanta to screen test for the role, so news of this may or may not be a big surprise or revelation to a lot of you. Still, it’ll be neat to see Spider-Man on a big screen movie alongside his other Marvel buddies, no?
Maybe we’ll also get a movie version of One More Day out of this, too. Or maybe not. Please don’t. That was just a joke. I’m sorry.
