Researchers at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) created a “soft but stretchable” neural implant that is “the first of its kind that can be implanted directly on the spinal cord, without damaging it.” With it they’ve been “able to restore locomotion in paralyzed animals” without injuring the spinal cord.
