Recommended Videos

Good news! Spirited Away is heading back to theaters! Yes, the stunning animated film from Studio Ghibli is being re-released in honor of its 15th anniversary. Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the story follows a sullen young girl who moves into a new neighborhood and ends up wandering into the spirit world. Released in July of 2001, the movie features music by composer  Joe Hisaishi which was performed by the New Japan Philharmonic. It also won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2003.

Like most re-releases, the movie will only be available in theaters for a short time. It’s only running from December 4-5 so you might wanna grab those tickets as soon as possible. The event will be accompanied by a 25-minute short film called Ghiblies: Episode 2, which features “several comedic vignettes and caricatures” from Studio Ghibli.

Tickets can be purchased here.
