Star Wars: Forces of Destiny Returns With Rey and Chewbacca Making a Great Team
I need happy today, and I have found it in the all-new episode of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny that debuted today on Disney’s YouTube channel! In this Rey-focused episode, Rey and Chewbacca have to team up against danger on the Millennium Falcon.
We’ve been loving Forces of Destiny since it debuted this summer. Since then, it has presented the untold stories of several of Star Wars‘ best female characters, from new ones like Rey and Sabine Wren to OG Star Wars women like Leia and Padme. When you need a quick injection of Star Wars happiness, these shorts are exactly what you need.
Forces of Destiny returns after a break with the above episode, “Tracker Trouble.” In it, Rey, Han Solo (RIP), Finn, Chewie, and BB-8 are on their way to Maz Kanata’s, when there’s a problem with the ship. Turns out, there’s a rogue tracker on board, and it’s up to Rey and Chewie to find it. Finn tries to help, but…let’s just say he’s not really a mechanical kinda dude.
It’s both heartwarming and sad to see this particular gang back together, knowing that Han doesn’t get to serve as a mentor to Rey the way it seemed like he may have wanted. However, I love their relationship in The Force Awakens, and it was nice to see that revisited, even if it was only in animated form.
You can catch up with Star Wars: Forces of Destiny on YouTube!
