Star Wars: The Force and the Fury Is Exactly the Fan Film We Were Looking For
These Star Wars fan films are on some next-level stuff. It bothers me to use the word “fan film” because it suggests a poorly-made project when a lot of these look better than major studio productions but what else do we call them? That being said, I must tip my hat to the extremely talented and resourceful team over at Big Puddle Films for producing such a stellar short film titled Star Wars: The Force and the Fury.
Here’s the official synopsis: “A Jedi crash lands on a barren planet and is pursued by a mysterious Sith who seems to know him.” Even with little dialogue, the story packs a hell of a punch. I’m also appreciative of the fact that we see a female Sith and a little bit of her journey to the Dark Side. What I would give to see more women like this on the big screen.
The film was directed by Jason Satterlund and includes cinematography from Federico Verardi. Alyssa Roehrenbeck and Deborah Smith produced and it stars Aris Juson and Deborah Smith. Remember these names, and maybe hire them if you work in Hollywood. For more information on the awesome people behind the project, head over to their website.
