Today in the Steam Summer Sale: Some Games You Want, Some Games You Don’t

Recommended Videos

The 2012 Steam Summer Sale continues. If you haven’t gotten some old games that are pretty awesome, or some other games involving shooting things with guns, or even one that features a lot of mountains and has no decipherable way of understanding how it plays by looking at the screenshots, today is your day.

Easily the best game for the best price today is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. No, not the recent MMO The Old Republic, but the original game that MMO was based on. Think how World of Warcraft was based on an extremely successful game that wasn’t an MMO, then turned into an MMO and we disappointingly never saw another sequel to this very day. Yeah. It’s only $2.49, so get it while the getting’s cheap. Apart from that, we have some shooters in Iron Front: Liberation 1944, Men of War: Vietnam, Rage, and Metro 2033. If you aren’t full of testosterone and military aspirations, we have Age of Empires III and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, along with the indie somewhat-metagame Dear Esther. If you really dig indie bundles and don’t already own every indie game under the sun from previous indie bundles, Steam’s Indie Bundle V includes AudioSurf, Gemini Rue, Greed Corp, The Tiny Bang Story, and Ys: The Oath in Felghana.

Remember, if you miss any of these games or ones featured in past sales, or you want to hold out to see if they get even cheaper, wait until the last day of the sale, July 22, as games tend to plummet in price then. Until then, continually rail Steam with your traffic; there are flash deals that come and go every few hours.
