Stranger Things‘ Barb Would Make an Excellent Squirrel Girl, Don’t You Think?

Recommended Videos

Earlier this month, Anna Kendrick said that though she doesn’t read Squirrel Girl, she’s interested in taking on that role if it should ever come to pass that Doreen Green might show up on the big screen. However, after stealing the internet’s attention and collective hearts in Stranger Things, Shannon Purser, aka Barb, aka Literally All of Us in High School, voiced her own interest in taking on the role.

For those unaware, Purser’s character in Stranger Things, Barbara Holland, is best friend to one of the main characters on the show, Nancy. She’s presented as a bit nerdy and perhaps a bit of an outcast alongside Nancy. When Nancy starts going out with some of the more popular (and since this is an 80s movie, awful) kids, Barb feels left out, but continues to support her best friend. While she meets a , her character has definitely resonated with a ton of fans.

Having Purser bring Squirrel Girl to life just seems… perfect. While we haven’t really had a chance to see Purser flex her comedic muscle, it’s obvious she’s got the geeky look down pat. After all, looking at the image up there, can’t you just see her wearing a squirrel ear headband? Glorious. Are you listening, Marvel?
