[UPDATE:] Stranger Things 4 has a lot of questions it needs to answer, and the new trailer for the season—which dropped this morning, at the end of countdown that began yesterday—seems to be giving us even more, with Hopper seemingly willing to die to protect those he loves, a new baddie that maybe is someone we knew in the past, and with Max maybe having superpowers?!

The trailer brought us into the ’80s with a Journey song, the kids all trying to just find answers to how to save a “cursed” Hawkins, and more.

[Original Article:] Stranger Things fans were gifted with a new mystery to solve when a countdown livestream dropped for the Creel Clock. What that means, we don’t know, but it started with a countdown for one day, and so now fans are tuned in to watch some scientists take notes on this clock as it steams and makes noise, alerting us all that something is coming to the city of Hawkins, Indiana.

Titled “IT’S ALMOST TIME | CREEL CLOCK LIVESTREAM” on YouTube, the stream is simply just us staring at the clock and waiting to see what happens as the countdown gets closer and closer to time. The thing is, we don’t really know what the countdown means. We can all assume it’s a new trailer or something to get us excited for the show’s fourth season release date in May, but we don’t know for certain.

The clock in question was already featured in a teaser for season 4, where we see a family buying a house and having almost an Amityville Horror response to it—with the father, seemingly, killing his family—back in the ’50s or ’60s.

Flashforward to the ’80s, and we see Steve Harrington breaking into the house with Dustin, Lucas, and Max, as the group looks around for clues to something, only to discover the clock still ticking and its face cracking.

What to expect from Stranger Things 4

The thing is: We can never really know what is going to come out of a new season of Stranger Things. Every season is filled with nostalgia for the ’80s and the content consumed at that time, with a mix of mystery and intrigue as we learn more about Hawkins Lab and what they did to Eleven and other children like her.

So, heading into season 4, we know that they have plenty of answers to give us. Like how is Hopper alive after we assumed he died back in Indiana? Or what is still happening with the Upside Down after all this time, and how it is still tormenting Hawkins (and the world)?

These are just a few questions from the world of Stranger Things, and now, with things like this clock countdown, we have even more questions about how all of this ties into our favorite group of friends and the ongoing fight to protect Eleven and Hawkins.

Eleven’s return to Hawkins

Maybe the clock in the series itself will tie into the return of the Byers to Hawkins. The countdown could be leading to when Joyce, Jonathan, Will, and Eleven come back to Indiana on vacation, as it seems that anyone who leaves Hawkins eventually comes back. Or it could just simply be a clock that ties back to the Upside Down.

For our real-world clock counting down, I do hope we get a trailer for the new season or some kind of insight into where we’re heading, because we have titles for the episodes and an idea of what part one of season 4 will entail, but there are still just so many unknowns about the show out there, and after waiting all this time for the next season, fans want answers.
