Suicide Squad Round-Up: Early Screening Reactions, New Posters, & The Joker’s Music Video

Recommended Videos

With two months to go until the August 5th release date, Suicide Squad released a new collection of glitzy new posters this week, with Harley Quinn’s eye-catching smirk dominating most of them. Sounds like Margot Robbie’s undeniable charm as the character may well be the stand-out aspect of this movie, according to recent responses from folks who attended Suicide Squad advanced screenings.

ComicBook.com has a round-up of the responses; most of the reactions are lukewarm-to-positive. One self-proclaimed attendee at a showing in Sacramento wrote, “You will like every single member of the Squad, with Harley (obviously) stealing the show. She’s a star and everyone will love her … The BIG thing is that the movie literally saves DCEU Batman. This Batman is BTAS personified.”

There’s no way to know whether the folks in the thread about the Sacramento showing attended the movie or just want to say that they did, but it’s worth noting that none of them seem to have much to say about Jared Leto’s Joker. It sounds, from their descriptions, like Will Smith and Margot Robbie play the stand-out characters of the movie. Plus, Batfleck may have been given the opportunity to redeem himself with his cameo here.

Anyway, Jared Leto will be the character that gets featured in one of the music videos released as part of the Suicide Squad soundtrack. Skrillex and Rick Ross have written the song, and according to Cinema Blend‘s account, their video won’t just include clips from the movie, it’ll include new footage from Leto in his Joker costume.

Seems like a shame that they wouldn’t ask Harley Quinn and Deadshot to appear in the video, too, right? The movie hasn’t even come out yet, and those two already seem like the favorites. It’ll be interesting to see whether that holds true once we all have a chance to see it ourselves.
