As If The CW’s Arrow Didn’t Feature Enough Nerd Stars, They’ve Just Added Summer Glau

Arrow is already a vertiable who’s who of geek television. They already host alums from Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, True Blood, Fringe, Xena, and more, so why not throw Summer Glau in the mix? 

Glau is practically a nerd god thanks to her time spend on Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dollhouse, and more. Something tells me the creators of The CW’s Arrow knew what they were doing when they cast her for Season 2. But who will she play?

Entertainment Weekly says Glau will enter Starling City as “the enigmatically beautiful and professionally dangerous Isabel Rochev, Vice President of Aquisitions of Stellmoor International, a company looking to take over Queen Consolidated.” And no, it’s not a one-off, Glau has a recurring role on the superhero series based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow.

In fact, while Rochev was one of the names seen in Robert Queen’s book of bad guys in Season 1, she’s also a character from the comics. Pre-New 52 continuity, but still rather recently created, Rochev went by the alias “The Queen” and took over Queen Industries. And without giving any more away, it might be safe to say we could see flashbacks from someone else’s perspective this season.

Arrow Season 2 is set to return October 9 on The CW.
