At SXSW, filmmakers are given the opportunity to create shorts that run before screenings, usually comedic. This is director Joe Nicolosi‘s live action, moody re-imagining of Super Mario Bros., which should make up for that other live action Super Mario Bros. movie that the world would really rather forget. I always knew Bowser was nothing but hipster scum. See all of Nicolosi’s bumpers here.
