David Tennant & Matt Smith Had A Great Idea For Both To Remain On Doctor Who But…

Of course David Tennant and Matt Smith came up with a way for both of them to stay on Doctor Who. Of course they did. 

Speaking with the Radio Times, showrunner Steven Moffat talked a bit about the interaction between the two Doctors while working on the big anniversary episode. “They got on like a couple of old women,” he said, “They just say in the corner and gossiped the entire time.”

“The double act between them is sublime,” Moffat continued. “It’s one of those happy accidents – there’s no reason why they should be, but they are absolutely adorable and hilarious together.”

So wouldn’t it be a wild, crazy, idea to let them both somehow continue together on the show?

Moffat told the Radio Times, “By the end of it, Matt told me that he’d worked out this plan that they’d both continue in Doctor Who: do five individual episodes each and three together – would that be ok? It was a nice plan. I think if I’d said yes they’d have gone for it.”

Of course he didn’t say yes. Of course he didn’t.
